RIMMA was born in 1986 in Yakutsk, Yakut ASSR, and grew up under the strong influence of Tatar culture. The Tatars are the Turkic people of Russia and post-Soviet countries and the largest ethnic minority in this country. RIMMA graduated from the Linguistic University of Nizhny Novgorod and then studied at the Studio Berçot fashion school in Paris. She has worked in the fashion industry for over 10 years. Since 2021, she has been developing as a multidisciplinary artist.

Her artistic work draws inspiration from the majestic nature of the Far North, a striking landscape of her childhood, and the Tatar culture that surrounded her from her earliest steps. These memories of her holidays spent in the Tatar village, stories of everyday life, tales and legends, as well as stories passed down by her grandparents and parents about family history, form the foundation of her creativity. Through her artistic expression, she passionately engages in preserving the heritage of her culture, breathing new life into it while narrating the contemporary reality of her people.

In her creative process, RIMMA explores and reveals the deepest memories, sometimes imbued with sweetness, sometimes darker, considering them an integral part of her personal history. She interprets these experiences in her art with genuine sincerity.

Her artistic language is polymorphic, manifesting through various means of expression such as painting, drawing, collage, installation, and photography. Each artistic form she uses becomes a means of conveying her message, capturing the richness of her experiences and cultural heritage.
