MORE THAN A BOOK
At the heart of the project are original tales and illustrations created at the crossroads of folklore and contemporary drawing. This isn’t a reissue of the old — it’s a new mythology.
The master copy is a unique art object: a one-of-a-kind book, entirely drawn and written by hand. Its journey will begin with an exhibition in Paris, and it will later be presented in Kazan.
Its mission is to become a bold cultural statement — to draw international attention to the disappearance of languages and to spark new momentum for the Tatar language.

As part of the project, a limited edition will be released and available by pre-order. It will be a high-end reproduction of the master copy: scanned at the highest resolution, printed on premium paper, and bound in a superior edition — in a slightly smaller format made to be held, gifted, and returned to again and again.

The world is changing. The old ways of preserving tradition no longer work. Today, 40% of the world’s languages are at risk of falling silent. Tatar must not become one of them.
Every language is a unique lens — a way of seeing and feeling the world. To lose it is to see the world only in part. Our project is an international cultural intervention. We draw on the best global practices from art and the fashion industry to bring the Tatar cultural code into a truly global context.

What We’re Working on Now
Handmade Process
Rimma is hand-lettering the entire book in calligraphy and drawing the illustrations directly onto the pages.
Pre-order for Everyone
We’re preparing a launch on crowdfunding platforms in Russia and internationally — so anyone can pre-order a copy of the book and become part of the project.
Exhibitions
We’re planning landmark events in Paris and Kazan — gatherings for everyone who cares about culture and contemporary art.
We are working on an art book, developing international partnerships, and preparing the project’s presentation.
Our aim is to bring the Tatar language and its cultural context into the contemporary art field and make them more visible to a wider audience.
